Future Pasifika

With this project I wanted to explore what the future may look like in the Pacific. The idea for this topic was inspired by the current state of islands such as Tuvalu and Kiribati, who are currently battling climate change with rising sea levels threatening their lands. So with this I was curious to investigate and also raise awareness of the fragility of the Pacific, by showing the possible outcomes of what the future may look like. This is also my capstone project and is the last and biggest project during my Media Design bachelors degree.

The project is separated into 3 different future scenarios. This one on the left is the so called 'good' scenario where humanity figured out how to live in harmony with nature and eliminate climate change.

In the next scenario this is the worst of the 3. In this future humanity has been through multiple wars, and climate change has resulted in massive climate displacement all over the world with rising sea levels submerging multiple nations.

And finally the last one is not the worst future scenario however it is far from good. The Pacific islands have become more of a futuristic metropolitan cityscape, extreme weather is more prevalent due to climate change and high levels of pollution has forced people to adjust their lifestyle.
